The goal of SIR is to reduce the drudgery of common people. The drudgery might be related with consumption i.e. Economical, or access/recognition i.e. Social factor, knowledge i.e. Education, or health i.e. Physical factors. SIR: A Catalyst for Community Empowerment and Development Support for Implementation & Research (SIR), Lucknow is a Key Resource Center of Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India for imparting training to government and non-government manpower (Middle Management and Community Stakeholders) engaged in Jal Jeevan Mission in all India. SIR has been honored by Hon'ble PM Narendra Modi and also by Hon'ble CM Yogi Aditya Nath for community Participation and Water Conservation respectively. SIR exclusively promotes women empowerment by giving priority to women in each program at every level and also by providing Skill training and leadership development programs throughout the country. Support for Implementation & Research (SIR) is a renowned ISO 9001:2015 certified organization committed to grassroots development across India. With a legacy of over 25 years, SIR is recognized for its pioneering work in sectors such as water, sanitation, skill development, and socio-economic research. Empanelled as a Key Resource Centre (KRC) by the Ministry of Jal Shakti and a National Level Monitor (NLM) for various government schemes, SIR continues to set benchmarks in sustainable development and community empowerment.

A Legacy of Impactful Initiatives SIR’s journey began with a mission to uplift marginalized communities and create opportunities for sustainable development. The organization has successfully implemented various projects that span across India, targeting critical areas like water conservation, sanitation, skill development, women’s empowerment, and community health. One of SIR’s flagship initiatives is its involvement in the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), where it has led capacity-building programs at multiple stakeholder levels. Another significant contribution is SIR’s role in the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), where it has carried out ODF verification and monitoring across states like Bihar, Rajasthan, West Bengal, and Jharkhand. This comprehensive approach to sanitation has helped communities achieve cleaner living conditions and improved public health. In collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM), SIR has empowered thousands of youth through skill training programs. Focusing on sectors such as IT, banking, handicrafts, and apparel, the organization provides vocational training that enhances employability and promotes self-sufficiency, particularly among the rural population. Holistic Development through Community Engagement At the heart of SIR’s approach is a commitment to community engagement and participatory development. In partnership with the National Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM), SIR has formed over 1200 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in urban areas of Uttar Pradesh. These SHGs play a vital role in promoting financial inclusion, especially among women. By providing access to microcredit and income-generating opportunities, SIR has empowered countless women to take control of their economic futures. SIR’s involvement in the Atal Bhujal Yojana is another example of its dedication to sustainable development. By working on water conservation efforts in the drought-prone region of Bundelkhand, the organization is helping communities ensure water security, a vital resource for their agricultural livelihoods. SIR also places great emphasis on awareness and education. The organization regularly conducts campaigns on health, sanitation, and vocational skills. Its partnerships with various government bodies, such as the Khadi & Village Industries Commission, allow SIR to promote sustainable livelihoods through skill development in traditional industries like handicrafts and food processing.

Recognized for Excellence SIR’s contribution to India’s socio-economic landscape has not gone unnoticed. The organization has been honored by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for its outstanding work in women’s empowerment and socio-economic development. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also acknowledged SIR’s exceptional efforts in water conservation under the Atal Bhujal Yojana. Over the years, SIR has trained over 17,000 Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) members, provided critical training on sustainable agriculture, and played a leading role in promoting health initiatives, including HIV/AIDS prevention and TB control.
